Just Published: Packing for an Overnight at the State Capitol
I am working on Messy Real: Field Notes from the Anthropocene a book about being a climate scientist, a mother, and working in politics. I’m also writing a sweet, sexy, suspenseful (aka, trashy) novel about ghosts. My work has appeared in The Kenyon Review, River Teeth, The Common among others. I’ve been a recipient of a Minnesota State Art Board Artist’s Initiative Grant, a Nan Snow Emerging Writers Award, a Loft Literary Center Mentor Series award, an Excellence in Teaching Fellowship at the Madeline Island School of the Arts.
I’m passionate about building science literacy through the arts. I curate the ongoing book art exhibit, The Nature Library. Check out my Science Love Letter postcard series done with artist Natalie Vestin.
